Ukraine launches Storm Shadow missiles from the UK against Russia for the first time.

Ukraine has fired Storm Shadow missiles, provided by the UK, for the first time at targets inside Russia. The long-range missiles could only be used inside the boundaries of the war-torn nation. Defense Secretary John Healey spoke with his Ukrainian colleague Tuesday night, according to authorities, although the government has declined to comment on the reports for operational reasons. 

Rustem Umerov, the defense minister for Ukraine, stated that his nation was “using all the means to defend our country” but claimed he would not confirm whether the Storm Shadow missiles had been used within Russian territory. The spokesperson for the US State Department, Matthew Miller, would not comment on the use of the missile provided by the UK either.

As the sole means of ending the war, President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged Kyiv’s Western partners to approve the employment of long-range missiles against targets within Russia.

Storm Shadow is seen to be the perfect weapon for breaking into ammunition depots and reinforced bunkers like those Russia utilized during its conflict with Ukraine. Ukraine then targeted the Bryansk region, which borders Ukraine, on Tuesday with the Atacms. To slow down Russian soldiers, the US has now authorized the shipment of landmines to Ukraine. The maximum range of the Anglo-French cruise missile Storm Shadow is approximately 250 kilometers (155 miles). It’s called Scalp by the French.
