Sanam Puri started his career by organizing a band with his school friends Venky S and Kat Subramaniam (bass guitar). In which Sanam was kept as the lead singer of the band. After finishing his high school, he went to India with his friend to attend college. He was quite active in the rock scene during his college days as he has been seen participating in singing competitions and winning them.
Along with this, Sanam Puri was also a member of a group named Bandish in Delhi. Venky and drummer Keshav Dhanraj both formed the group “The Previous Band” because of the group in the college rock circuit. Two members of the same group attended the Los Angeles Institute of Music. Both Sanam and her brother moved to Mumbai in 2009 to pursue their careers in music.
It was through Sanam’s friend named Venky that all the band members came together and then participated in the “SQS Project” in 2010 by Times Music Superstar Competition. The group SQS Superstars/Project released their first album through their first project, also titled “Superstars”. In 2012, the band first encountered Ben Thomas through Kurian & Co. Talent Management, who managed the careers of musicians such as Vishal-Shekhar and Sonu Nigam.
The group has also released albums such as Love with Sanam in 2017, Sanam Revisited in 2015, Universal Sanam in 2019 and Memories Volume 1 in 2020, as well as two albums. Additional studio albums, Summer Sanam which followed in 2011, Sanam Revolution which followed in 2018. After that, in October 2012, he released a video of his own on YouTube named “Ainvayi Ainvayi”, through which his band became quite famous.
His band has gained popularity only through YouTube, which came in 2015. He then debuted as a playback singer in the film “Gori Tere Pyar Mein” through the song “Dhat Teri Ki”. The group then recorded “Main Hoon”, the opening theme song for “The Amazing Spider-Man 2”.
