About Raftaar

Raftaar was born on 16 November 1988 in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. His real name is Dilin Nair. He is also a popular Indian rapper. His stage name is Raftaar. But although his hometown is Thiruvananthapuram; He is settled in Delhi with his family.

He is the only child of his parents. His father also worked as a manager in the Indian Railways, and his mother was a receptionist. had a tough time in the school itself. His classmates and teachers discriminated against him. His passion for music started when he was still in ninth grade.

A friend of his gave him a CD full of songs by Eminem and Linkin Park, and that’s when he decided to become a rapper one day. And he has struggled a lot to reach where he is today. In the beginning, he also had to face a lot of difficulties. He also used to give dance training to students in an institute.

It was also his way of earning some money for himself. He started his career as a rapper with Young Amalie and Lil Golu. Raftaar started recording songs and posting them on social networking sites. Dilin then joined Mafia Mundir, a band started by Yo Yo Honey Singh.

He also worked as a lyricist in the group Mafia Mundir. Beer Bar (2009) was a song he sang while working in the group Mafia Mundir. And after some time Honey Singh left the band due to immense popularity. Dilin then turned his attention to RDB and was introduced to the group by his manager Ankit Khanna. Seeing his talent and potential, RDB immediately signed him.

But even after the disbandment of the group, Dilin started working with RDB lead singer Manj Music (Manjeet Singh Ral). appeared in the music album Born Star and contributed to four songs including ‘Sugar’, ‘Bottle’, ‘Majnu’ and ‘Tere Pichhe’. And also in 2013 he self-released his solo-album ‘WTF – Witness The Future’.

He became famous when he got a chance to rap in the song ‘Shera Di Kaum’ in the film Speedy Singhs (2013). Dilin has rapped songs for various Bollywood movies including Bullett Raja (2013), Heropanti (2014), Fugly (2014) and many more.

His song ‘Swag Mera Desi Hai’ became very popular among the youth and he also received an award for it. He is an active artist performing shows and concerts in various colleges and institutes. Even in 2014, some reports have confirmed the tussle between Yo Yo Honey Singh and Raftaar. accused Yo Yo Honey Singh of not giving him credit for two of his songs in the film Fugly (2014).

The fight took such a fierce turn that the song ‘Swag Mera Desi Hai’ was released, in which Raftaar mocked Honey Singh. He wants to bring change in the rap industry. Raftaar has recently released his new song Instagram Love.
