He was born on November 26, 1988, in Jandali village near Khanna in Ludhiana district of Punjab. Gill attended Gobindgarh Public College and studied music and physical education, and participated in local youth festivals where he won second place four times in a row. After struggling for three years, he made his debut in the Punjabi film industry with the 2014 movie Mr & Mrs 420 and later in Hindi cinema with the 2018 film Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi. Gill is married and has a daughter named Roojas Kaur Gill. Jassi Gill, was born in a Sikh family to Gurminder Singh and Ravinder Kaur. He has three sisters, whose names have not been made public. Although he did not have a passion for singing in school, his teacher recognized his attractive voice and urged him to sing properly.
