How Punjabi mobster Arsh Dalla became a Khalistani terrorist in Canada
One of India’s most wanted terrorists, Arshdeep Singh Gill, also known as Arsh Dalla, is a Khalistani who was apprehended in Canada. This is how Dalla, a Punjabi local criminal, became a Khalistani terrorist with a global network after immigrating to Canada in 2020. Once a Punjabi local criminal, Arsh Dalla later turned into a feared Khalistani terrorist who operated out of Canada.
Through his terror network, he murdered many in India, including Baljinder Singh Balli, the leader of the Congress. Dalla, who became command of the Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) following the 2023 murder of Harjit Singh Nijjar, is once again been asked by India to be extradited from Canada.
Dalla is accused of using social media to enlist young people in Punjab and Haryana to help with his terrorist activities. Dalla was arrested by the Halton Regional Police Service in Ontario on October 27–28 following a shootout, on suspicion of planning many violent crimes in India. In July 2023, Canada turned down India’s plea for Dalla’s temporary detention, even though Indian authorities had produced copious records of his criminal activity and affiliations to terrorism.
Dalla has been charged with several offenses by Indian intelligence and the National Investigation Agency (NIA), including planning targeted murders, extortion, and disrupting Punjabi public order.
Arsh Dalla’s Introduction And Growth In The KTF
Originally from Dalla village in the Moga district of Punjab, Arsh Dalla started as a local thug until emigrating to Canada in 2020. In Surrey, British Columbia, Canada, Arshdeep lived with his spouse and a little kid. His passport, which is valid till August 31, 2027, was issued by the Regional Passport Office in Jalandhar on September 1, 2017, according to NIA. He was linked to Nijjar in Canada, who was the KTF’s head at the time. India has classified the KTF as a terrorist organization since February 2023.
Crimes and links to terrorism
Dalla’s record includes numerous violent acts, many of which target Indian political people. He was implicated alongside Nijjar in the 2022 murder of Dera Sacha Sauda member Manohar Lal. On social media, he took credit for the 2024 assassination of Congress politician Balli in Moga, Punjab.
It is also thought that Dalla, who is on India’s National Investigation Agency’s (NIA) wanted terrorist list, ordered the decapitation of a Hindu youth in the Jahangirpuri neighborhood of Delhi after getting a video of the incident via his sleeper cell network in India. Dalla’s revenge violence against Indian popular personalities was further demonstrated by his grudge toward Balli.
India’s National Investigation Agency (NIA) has designated Dalla as a wanted terrorist. Dalla is also suspected of ordering the beheading of a Hindu youth in the Jahangirpuri area of Delhi after receiving a video of the act via his sleeper cell network in India.
Increasing Rival Gangs’ Tensions
Dalla’s violent behavior continued into altercations with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, with whom he has a long-running conflict. In addition to threatening Bollywood celebrity Salman Khan, the Bishnoi gang has taken credit for the murder of well-known Punjabi musician Sidhu Moosewala. As tensions increased, the Bishnoi gang retaliated in December 2023 by killing Dalla’s close associate Sukhdul Singh, also known as Sukha Dunike, in Winnipeg, Canada.
Arsh Dalla’s arrest in Canada comes as diplomatic tensions have escalated in the wake of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s claim that Indian government agents were involved in Nijjar’s murder.
The accusation has exacerbated diplomatic tensions, resulting in the removal of India’s High Commissioner Sanjay Verma from Canada and the expulsion of Canadian diplomats from India, despite the Indian government, which disputed the charge.
Dalla is one of the most wanted terrorists in India due to his wide-ranging influence and network. The neighborhood gangster is now a security risk and a Khalistani terrorist. Now, Canada may make amends for its prior decision to deny Dalla’s plea for extradition.
